It’s been a few months of restructuring, but here is an update on our recent ongoings. Daegu Pockets has discontinued its publication for various reasons, mostly financial and operational issues. All 40+ editors, writers, translators, and photogs have moved on to start a monthly newspaper called InDaegu. 3 other members of Daegu Pockets have elected to not join us and have instead launched a different publication.

Additionally, InDaegu was intended to be the news and reviews source for Daegu, whereas Daegu Pockets would be positioned to be more of an events magazine. But due to the previously mentioned issues involving DP which caused it to be discontinued, Galbijim Media will launching FACE, standing for Fashion, Art, Culture, and Events, which will be a magazine covering these themes for the Daegu and Gyeongbuk region. Primary languages will be Korean and English, with some summarized sections in Chinese. FACE magazine will be distributed along with InDaegu, in custom designed magazine racks throughout our distribution area, in addition to some of our travel agency networks in Beijing and Shanghai. Currently FACE has 66+ interns and volunteers ranging from art, fashion, design, and culture university interns, as well as event planners for event promotion, and a many more.
Both InDaegu and FACE are always looking for more help. And as I’ve said in the past, these publications are being test-marketed in Daegu for eventual expansion into other parts of Korea, so we are always looking for help in other cities.
